Ministers of Life Church serve the congregation by providing leadership, teaching bible studies/connect groups, covering the members through prayer during altar services, and counseling under the direction of Pastor.
ruben barron
+ ASSISTANT PASTOR
Ruben Barron and his wife Amy, along with their son Micah, have been serving at Life Church since 2008. Prior to relocating to San Diego he served on the ministry team at Indio Apostolic Church in Indio, CA for many years.
He has served in many capacities at Life Church: Men's Director, First Impressions Director, and has actively participated in many other departments. He is a licensed minister with the Socal District UPCI.
His hobbies include hiking, camping, barbecuing and trying out new restaurants with his family.
His favorite scripture is Philippians 1:21
Matthew de Leon
+ ASSISTANT PASTOR
Matthew and Sara have been serving at Life Church since August 2022 after God opened the door for them to transition to San Diego. They have been married for 10 years and recently welcomed their firstborn son, Levi.
Matthew currently serves at Life Church as a musician, playing piano and organ, as well as serving as Band Director. Sara serves as the Sunday School Teacher, helping lead and invest in the next generation.
Matthew’s hobbies include graphic design, photography, spending time with his family at the beach, and discovering new restaurants throughout Southern California.
His favorite Scripture is Romans 8:28.
Trevor Mckissick
+ ASSISTANT PASTOR
Trevor and Emily began serving at Life Church in September 2023 after God opened the door and directed them to San Diego. Trevor and his wife, Emily, have been married for 3 years.
Trevor began his ministry at the age of 15 after answering the call of God on the same night he received the Holy Ghost.
Raised in Lucedale, Mississippi, Trevor has served in several areas of ministry, including as a Sunday School teacher and Youth Pastor.
His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and metal crafting.
His favorite Scripture is Romans 8:38-39.
Chris higginbottom
+ ADMINISTRATIVE PASTOR
Chris and Linda began serving at Life Church in September 2024 after God opened the door and directed them to become part of the Life Church family.
Chris has served in various leadership roles throughout his years in ministry. A multitalented servant, he has used his gifts as an accomplished musician, singer, teacher, and administrator to serve the church and further the Kingdom of God.
His hobbies include hiking, music, and his newfound love of paddleboarding.
CARLOS REYES
+ YOUTH PASTOR
Carlos and Laura Reyes began serving as Youth Pastors at Life Church in November 2025. As San Diego natives, they have a heart for their city and a passion for reaching the next generation.
Carlos and Laura are passionate and exuberant worshipers with a genuine burden for soul winning. Together, they are committed to creating an environment where young people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and discover their purpose in His Kingdom.
Their love for people, passion for worship, and desire to see lives transformed are at the heart of their ministry at Life Church.
